BEIJING, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico's Health Ministry reported on Thursday 8,107 more COVID-19 cases, bringing the national count to 1,078,594.

The ministry said that 645 more deaths were reported, raising the nationwide tally to 104,242.

BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland on Thursday reported no new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, with five newly confirmed cases all arriving from outside, the National Health Commission said Friday.

Three new imported cases were reported in Shanghai, and one each in Fujian and Shaanxi Thursday, the commission said in its daily report.

No new suspected cases or new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported.

RIO DE JANEIRO -- The Brazilian Ministry of Health on Thursday reported 37,614 new COVID-19 cases with 691 more deaths, raising the national count to 6,204,220 with 171,460 deaths.

Brazil has the world's second-highest COVID-19 death toll, after the United States, and the third largest caseload, next to the United States and India.

SEOUL -- South Korea reported 569 more cases of COVID-19 as of 0:00 a.m. Friday local time compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 32,887.

The daily caseload stayed above 500 for two straight days, growing in triple digits for 20 days running due to small cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province as well as imported cases.
