The strong growth last month helped the foreign trade volume achieve growth in the January-October period.

The province's foreign trade fell by 2 percent year on year in the first three quarters of the year, with the decline narrowing by 2.8 percentage points for the January-August period.

Foreign trade in the first ten months totaled 108.25 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.8 percent. Imports reached 83.55 billion yuan, up by 4.7 percent, while exports hit 24.7 billion yuan, down by 6.9 percent.

The European Union, Japan, and Mexico were the province's top three trading partners in this period, achieving year-on-year trade growth of 3.2 percent, 34.3 percent, and 53.5 percent, respectively.

Foreign-funded businesses contributed 55.13 billion yuan, or 50.9 percent of the trade, with the proportion expanding by 3.9 percentage points from a year ago. State-owned enterprises and private businesses contributed 28.4 percent and 20.2 percent, respectively.
